Current Streamflow :: 1260 cfs at canyon mouth, 350 cfs in Fort Collins
Report :: The Poudre is high right now but fishing has been good and the water has cleared. There are reports of sparatic Salmon flies, and many of the terrestrials are very active. Try either a large dry with a deep dropper or a double nymph rig.
Recommended Flies :: . Because of the high water we would recomend using streamers and other large bugs. Some effective patterns are Bead Head Seal Bugger's #6-10, Rubber Bugger's #6-10 and North Platte Specials #6
For standard nymph rigs try Wired Stonefly #10-16, 20 Inchers #10-16, as well as attracter patterns(copper john, princes) for lead flies.
For trailers try JuJu Baetis #16-20, Barr's Emergers #16-20, RS-2 #16-20, and Purple Back Baetis #16-20 etc. Caddis larva will take a few fish for you as well using
Bread Crusts #14-16, Borealis Caddis #16-18 Flying Circus Caddis #16 . Also watch for dry fly activity and when
present try Extended Body BWO #18-22, Brook's Sprouts #18-22, Peacock Caddis#16-18. For large dry patterns try ruber legged stimulators #14-18,
Madam X #14-16, and Yellow Hopper stones #12-16.
Current Streamflow :: 471 cfs below Lake Estes, 414 cfs above Lake Estes, 130 cfs at canyon mouth
Report :: The Thompson has come back up due to warm weather and snow melt. It is still fishable although we would recomend you wait for the water to receed. Conditions in the lower canyon are much better at this point in time.
Fishing a double nymph rig is most productive at this time but there have bben some great hatches as well. Well keep you posted!
Recommended Flies :: Some good midge patterns to try are, Juju Midge's (green and red) #18-22, black beauties #20-22, and Desert Storm #20-22.
For lead paterns try golden wired stones #14-18, Sow Bug tan # 18, purple back baetis #16-20, Sparkle-wing RS-2, #18-20, Barr's emerger #18-22, and Poison Tung #18-20.
When fish are eating on the surface try Extended Body BWO #18-20, Brook's Sprouts #18-20, Yellow Stimi's #18, E/C Caddis #16-18, and Eric's High Vis Midge #20-22.
Caddis larva will take a few fish for you as well.
Current Streamflow :: The park is fishing alright at this point in time. Look to fish some of the high country lakes and streams. Due to run off some of the streams
are a bit high but water should still be clear.
Report :: Fishing in the high country has improved and we have seen water temps increase a bit. It would be recomended to stay at lower elevations to find the
most productive fishing. We have found some of the lower rivers like the Roaring, Moraine Park, or Fall River to be productive.
Recommended Flies :: Lead patterns that are working well are Micro Mays #18-20, Bubble Back Emergers #18. Some trailing pattern that are productive as well would be
Gold Ribbed RS2's #18-20, Barrs Emergers #18-20, and the Jibba Midge #20. Lastly try some small terrestrials like the Hot Spot Ant #16-18, or the Epoxy Aint #16-18.
Current Streamflow :: At Northgate 1340 cfs
Report :: The Platte has seemed to reach its peak for the final time and from here on it should only get better as long as the farmers dont close their headgates. Right now the Platte would be fishing well especially from a boat. Wade fishing may be a bit tough and the river is hard to cross at this point in time,
but fishing to the pockets and edges has been productive. Try using either single or double
streamer combos or dry dropper rigs with heavy stonefly nymphs. Watch for Salmon flies and when present try large surface patterns.
Recommended Flies :: Wooly buggers in Black or Olive #4-6, Orange Blossom Specials #4-6, and North Platte Spiders #4-6, Trick or Treats #4, and Rubber Buggers #4-6. Also try stone fly patterns like the King Kong #4, Extended Body Salmon #4, and the Bank Robber #4, Tunghead 20 Inchers #6-12,
and Wired Stones #6-10. For Dries try large Salmon fly patterns like the Rogue Stone #6-4, The Bank Robber #4, and the Tripple Decker #4. We have also found Stimulators(orange and yellow)#12-16, and other caddis and stone fly imitaions are working well.
Current Streamflow :: 1700 cfs at Grey Reef
Report :: The Reef has been fishing tough at this point due to contiual increase in water flows. With warm weather the flows should continue to be bumped up until it reaches its normal summer flow. The water is realatively clear up high but as you move down stream the water becomes more cloudy.
There have still been good midge and BWO hatches throughout the day, and there are some yellow sallies working there way up stream.
Recommended Flies :: The standard Reef fare applies. Red rock worms, SJWs, midges in black, red, or grey.
Split foam back in black, brown, or grey #18-22. Baetis patterns including small PTs and purple back baetis #18-20. The Reef is coming out of
it's winter mode so scuds in rust, olive, and tan #14-18 will also produce well. Don't forget about streamers. Fish can be had on the reef year round by
slow rolling leech patterns and other big ugly stuff.
Current Streamflow :: 832 cfs at canyon mouth near Encampment
Report :: As soon as flows drop back down the Encampment should really shine. Right now the water is on its way down but the water temps are to cold for fish to
be active. Well keep you posted!
Recommended Flies :: Wooly buggers in Black or Olive #6-10, Orange Blossom Specials, and princes. Small midges and various baetis patterns.
Current Streamflow :: 201cfs near Glendevey
Report :: The Laramie has come down quite a bit in the last week and is close to being in real good shape for some dry fly fishing. Although there is
a little dry fly activity right now the fish are still hungry and aggresively feeding on stonefly nymphs and streamer patterns. The water is still a bit off color but in the next week or two
it should clear as long as they dont close the tunnel.
Recommended Flies :: Wooly Buggers Black or Olive #8-12, Hot Head leeches, San Juan Worms (red) #12, Bead Head
Flashback Pheasant Tails #14-18, Scuds (olive or tan) Copper Johns (red)#18-20, lighting bugs, Crane Fly's, Small black and red midges,

The Delany Buttes are open and fishing well from both the edges and float tubes using Choronomid patterns. Lastly the warm water fishing has really improved and there
have been scatterd reports of Small Mouth, Wipers and Walleye. For more info on warm water fishing stop by the shop to chat.
